Corowa Shire Council has announced plans to establish the ‘Festival of Fun for Kids'. Planning will now commence for this free event which is proposed for a weekend during May, 2011. The aim of the event is to encourage and inspire family togetherness, celebrate working together and being part of a community, and to promote the importance of being physically active. An emphasis will be placed on providing fun, creative, physical and musical activities with an educational focus for both parents and children. It is hoped that the ‘Festival of Fun for Kids' will be an annual event which gains strong community and business support. The event will be seeking the involvement of a variety of businesses and organisations in order to provide a good cross section of activities and information. An organising committee will be formed to assist in the planning of this event. Council is excited to be supporting this fun filled event for the community and expects that it will also bring a significant number of visitors to the area.
